Pumpkin & Turkey Chili Recipe: it works!

The frost may be on the pumpkin but there is nothing like some good old-fashioned chili to warm the family up on cool autumn days and cold nights. So put the two together in a pot and amaze yourself and everyone else with how yummy this interesting combo tastes!

*Turkey & Pumpkin Chili

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup chopped yellow bell pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground turkey
1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
2 cups pumpkin puree
2 1/2 tablespoons chili powder or packet of your favorite Chili seasoning (Lawry’s or McCormick’s recommended)
Lemon pepper to taste
Two dashes Cayenne pepper or to taste
3 dashes Tabasco
1 dash sea salt
Shredded Cheddar cheese
Sour cream

*(You can use your favorite/family chili recipe and simply add the pumpkin if you wish)

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, and saute the onion, green bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and garlic until tender. Stir in the turkey, and cook until evenly brown. Drain, and mix in tomatoes and pumpkin. Season with chili powder, pepper, and salt. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 20 minutes. Serve topped with Cheddar cheese and sour cream
