Giant’s Gate Irish Cocktail: Brawny & Stout!

In The Imbibery and Distillery by Christine McKellar

There is nothing a bit o Bushmills 16 Year Old Irish Whiskey and some Guinness Stout can’t complement. With a bit o imagination and some simple syrup, lime juice, egg white, cardamom pods and whiskey soaked raisins you’ll be knockin’ down the Giant’s Gate literally and figuratively!

The Giant’s Gate Cocktail

1 1/3 ounces Bushmills 16 Year Old Irish Whiskey

1/3 ounce lime juice

2/3 ounce simple syrup

2/3 ounce Guinness Stout

1/2 ounce egg white

5-6 cardamom pods

Irish whiskey-soaked raisins for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, muddle the cardamom pods.

Add the other ingredients and dry shake or use a cappuccino frother to emulsify the mixture with the egg white.

Add ice, shake, and double strain into pre-chilled cocktail glass rinsed with Guinness Beer.

Garnish with skewed raisins (that have been soaked into the Irish Whiskey overnight) to match the raisin flavor of Bushmills Malt 16yr.
