Grown Ups Malted Summer Shake: Blueberries & Amaretto

In The Imbibery and Distillery by Christine McKellar

Some calories are just worth their weight, so to speak. So what if you have to squeeze into a bathing suit or pair of swim trunks on the rare occasion. What could be better on a brazen blazing hot summer day than a cold creamy and berry delicious milkshake with a shot of amaretto added? Nuttin’, honey! Let your imagination run as swiftly as your blender: I’d be throwing some Baily’s into this mix. Or even switch out the amaretto with some rum or flavored vodka.

Blueberry Malt Milkshake Grown Up Style

1 cup vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, plus more for garnish
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons malted milk powder
1 shot amaretto liqueur
Whipped cream, for garnish

Blend the ice cream, blueberries, milk, malted milk powder, amaretto and 3 ice cubes in a blender on medium speed until thick and smooth. Divide among small glasses. Top with whipped cream and more blueberries.
