lemonade punch with hot sauceWhen is a cold cocktail hot? When you add a bit of heat like Tabasco Sauce to it. The folks around Avery Island, LA, know all about heat. The aroma of cayenne peppers permeates the air. The gift shop has pickled packs of peppers, peppered aprons, oven mitts, salt and (yah) pepper shakers, peppery candy and the list goes on. I know. I’ve been there cuz I love me my Tabasco! The punch recipe below packs some pepper in with tart and sweet lemonade. Sha nah nah!

 

Ingredients:

2 cups light rum

1 (12-oz.) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed

1 teaspoon Tabasco Sauce

1 (1-liter) bottle club soda, chilled

Crushed ice

Garnishes: sugarcane sticks, lemon slices

 

Preparation:

Stir together first 3 ingredients. Add club soda just before serving. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish, if desired.
