Wine Plus Cola Plus Gelato Equals Wine Floats!

In The Imbibery and Distillery by Christine McKellar

What inspired this post was that I inadvertently stumbled upon the popular Spanish cocktail, the Kalimotxo (cali-mot-cho), which in turn led to some interesting spins off this odd combination of wine and coca cola or similar soft drinks. Yes, the Kalimotxo is an equal mix of red wine and soda poured over ice. I’m reserving my judgement on that combination, however, anything to with gelato or ice cream certainly grabs my attention and appetite. I LOVE ICE CREAM and GELATO. And I do like to drink wine. Sodas I am not fond of in general or served solo. However a float is a float regardless how you spin it. The following cocktail recipes may just be the perfect adult floats for a summer gathering by the pool.
